Here are some books I have liked, a work page forever in progress with some of the reasons I like certain books, probably some of the reasons I don’t like them and perhaps I’ll even throw in a top ten(-ish) list (fiction mostly).

Right now I’m reading Earth Abides by George R. Stewart. I picked it because it’s a bit of a classic (1947) and so far (80 pgs) it’s decent writing, emminently readable in fac. Yet while the concept is grand and fascinating (post apocalyptic United States), the plot so far is a bit thin and I’m about to quit reading and start skimming.

I just finished Italo Calvino’s wonderful Invisible Cities, a book I’m putting on my personal “all time great books list” and one I will expand upon in an essay shortly.
